Everyone likes a clean closet. One that is organized and nice to look at just in case someone were to open the door. This is the idea behind Huggable Hangers. Before learning about how they are different then other hangers, a little background about the history of hangers is in order.

Hangers are the most common solution to closet organization. The hanger was originally invented in 1869, and over 100 years later, it is still going through changes and being improved upon with more recent solutions like Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers.

The hanger was first redesigned in 1932, and since then people have been trying to make a wrinkle-free hanger.

3 Types of Hangers

There are currently three main types of hangers:

Wire hangers – This is the classic hanger type, made popular due to its inexpensive production. Originally designed for dry cleaners, these types of hangers are built for temporary use and lighter items, but they easily bendable and have been known to rust, leaving stains on clothing. Wire hangers have other uses as well, like unclogging drains and making crafts.

Wooden hangers – These are mostly used to hang heavy articles of clothing, like winter coats, and are thus quite bulky and heavy themselves, but also very strong. Often an additional wooden bar is placed along the bottom to hang pants on.

Plastic hangers – Plastic hangers have a basic design that is similar to that of wooden hangers, and are becoming very popular because they are cheap to manufacture and more durable than the classic wire hanger. As such, they are quickly replacing wire hangers. Most parents also use this type of hanger for their children's closets.

The Ultimate Hanger Solution

Hangers can also come with clips for skirts, or they can be tiered to hold multiple clothing items at once. These days, though, hangers are being chosen not only for their functionality, but for their style and visual appeal.

In the search for the ultimate hanger solution, most have seemed to settle on fabric-enclosed hangers. The Huggable Hanger collection is one of these solutions. These hangers have the desired visual appear, space conservation, and child safety, so they are an ideal replacement for wire hangers. There are also clips available that can join several hangers together multiplying the amount of clothing you can store in one space.

Although they are a little bit more expensive, Huggable Hangers can give you the efficient, functional and attractive closet that you need, so the cost is well worth it. The hangers are slip and attractive and come in Huggable Hanger sets for varying budgets and needs. Maybe it's time to get rid of those old wire hangers and go with a new type of hanger that is better for you, and safer for your children.

Talking about children, these hangers come in child sizes as well. The right size hangers for your child or baby’s clothes means the small garments won’t keep sliding off onto the floor for you to constantly pick up. It also means that if you set up your child’s closet for them to use and have a rod that is low enough for them to reach, they can hang up and retrieve their own clothes without your help making your life a little easier.

I never really thought of a hanger making such a difference but now that I think about it, my husband has those huge wood hangers in his closet. I replaced them and he's got a lot more room (though he needs more space still so obviously the hangers aren't slim enough.)

Hi Marniew,

Yes, I am a true user of Huggable Hangers. I started to use them a couple of years ago and now only use them. They help keep everything neat and organized besides creating more space. I love them. If your reading this take the time to view my profile. I have a few tricks of my own to save and organize space too.

I just bought these and was very surprised at how much additional space I have in my closet -- on the side that I installed the new hangers... compared to the mixture of plastic and wooden hangers that were hanging there BEFORE the addition of these new hangers.

The side where the new hangers are hanging looks much more organized and almost looks like I want to shop in my own closet for clothes that I haven't worn in awhile. It is such a remarkable change... "Visually' that I am going to order the remaining hangers to finish out the entire closet and hall closet.

My closet now looks like a high end boutique, on the side with the new hangers.

Amazing improvement! Who would guess?
